Tail Threading Reel Drum Vacuum Process Flow Diagram.

Applications

Used in paper mills to aid in the threading of the paper tail through the machine during reel changes. These systems are essential for ensuring smooth and efficient tail threading, minimizing downtime, and maintaining continuous production.

Benefits

Tail threading reel drum vacuum systems enhance operational efficiency by reducing the time required for threading the paper tail through the machine. They minimize production downtime, improve safety by automating the threading process, and reduce the risk of paper breaks. These systems also contribute to consistent product quality by ensuring precise and controlled tail threading.

Capacities

Vacuum Capacity: Ranging from 10 to 50 inWC

Air Flow Rates: From 1,000 to over 10,000 cfm

Threading Speed: At machine speeds from 500 to over 2,000 meters per minute.

The tail threading reel drum vacuum system consists of a vacuum drum positioned near the reel section of the paper machine. When a reel change is needed, the vacuum drum generates a strong vacuum that captures and holds the paper tail. The system then guides the tail through the threading path, ensuring it passes smoothly through various machine sections. The vacuum pressure and air flow rates are controlled to match the machine’s speed and paper type, ensuring optimal threading performance. Once the tail is securely threaded, normal production resumes, minimizing interruptions and maintaining continuous paper production.
